How does it work?

Thanks to the avalaibility of subtitles for the shows they provide on BBC iPlayer, this web tool provide a simple way to retrieve the subtitles in a standard srt format.

How about something not on the current feeds?

If you want some subtitles for shows not available on BBC iPlayer anymore (hence not listed on the channel feeds),
you have to find the episode ID first. It can be found on the BBC website.

Once, you have the episode ID, go to here and enter the ID in the box, than click the button and you should get your subtitles.

If you ask for anythin aired after April 2009, the location of the xml subtitles on the BBC website should be locally cached and the subtitles could be retrieved and the srt file generated
